Biography
I graduated from Cass Lake-Bena High School, then completed four years at Bemidji State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. I retired after 27+ years in law enforcement, all on or around the Leech Lake Reservation. Titles included Patrol Officer, Jailer, Deputy Sheriff, Sergeant, Canine Officer, Investigator, ERU (SWAT) team member, Chief Deputy, and Sheriff. I also worked for 6 years as an Assessment Worker/Investigator for Leech Lake Child Welfare. I’ve worked at LLTC as an adjunct instructor focusing on Law Enforcement since 2001, and I have been the Law Enforcement Program Coordinator since 2019. I love hunting, fishing, and family activities. I have been married for 36 years with Lynnette and have three daughters (Brittany, lives in Bemidji, Brooke & Courtney live in Portland, Oregon) and two wonderful grandchildren (Ayden & Kennedy).
