Over this week I saw a lot of things. The first day we went out to Spearhead and observed plants, trees and when they grow, how they grow or what time of year they will bloom. The second day we went to the same place and we tried a lot of different things like ants-many plants. The third day we went out in to the woods, and to the beach to understand how the lakes formed and how the rocks and hills are the way they are made. Today we practiced relaxing and listening to the nature outside. We observed the smell, touch and what it sounds like. And we went back inside to share what happened.

Bald Eagles Fishing on the lake

My peers and I, recently went on a trip for a STEM program. We all planned on going on a canoeing trip, during our paddling we all got to experience multiple adolescent Bald Eagles dive onto the waters surface and catch a few snacks. They soared through the open air above the lake for awhile, and finally deported their separate ways. Its was a fascinating experience for us all.

Canoeing

It was windy on Spearhead Lake the day we went canoeing, the water kept pushing us back if we stopped paddling. The water had waves that would rock the boat. Dan Bera also showed us that we could eat the tops of the cattails , so we stopped by them and collected them.

Trail

This occurrence happened on the trail going towards where we would later canoe but Dan Bera showed me lots of plants I could eat, what could help me in the woods. I seen a lot of plants that I admired and learned about cool things I never knew about. I loved how the woods looked around 2 pm. they were thick woods but a spaced out forest, brown/red/copper colored forest, green/red pines, with pine cones as well all over the ground, I admired how tall the trees were as well. This was my favorite occurrence during the trip.

Wild Edibles
We ate a plant called "wood sorrow" that has 3 little leaves shaped like hearts. It tastes like lemonade, it can be used in a salad. We also ate a cattail, it tastes plain and was very crunchy. We ate a little red ant and it taste sour.

I seen a loon
During the canoeing trip at Spear-Head lake, I had saw a loon about 30 feet to the right of me. The loon was not frightened or bothered by me at all, I think that shows how peaceful it can be on the lake.

Frog Materializes From Thin Air, Vanishes

A frog from the Laporte area crawled out of the gap between my windshield and hood, promptly crawled out and up my windshield, scaring the daylights outta me. After a roughly 15 minute job interview, the frog returned, this time crawling up my back window. Frog crawled to the roof of my vehicle and was never seen again. Frog had a green/brown belly, and was about *this* big.
