Children, Families and Communities – (Spring 2025: Section 1)

This course is designed to increase the student’s capacity to build positive relationships with parents and other family members. A variety of issues will be addressed, such as providing a culturally sensitive environment, parent involvement in the classroom, emotional /social development of young children, communication with difficult families, and working with diverse communities. Students will be responsible for developing a project to support family and community involvement in early educational settings. Prerequisite: ECE 180.
