Program Description

Our Advanced Early Childhood Education Indigenous Certificate at Leech Lake Tribal College expands on our initial ECE Indigenous certificate program with additional early childhood curriculum and Indigenous focused coursework. Early childhood care from an Indigenous American perspective is our unique focus. Our certificate provides a pathway to prepare students to provide Anishinaabe culturally informed care that will be beneficial for all children and families. This advanced certificate serves as a credential for employment in early childhood settings. Students completing the Advanced Indigenous Early Childhood Credential will be prepared with early childhood foundational courses, Ojibwe language and courses supporting Anishinaabe worldview and values. Our program provides each student with an opportunity to customize their educational background to fit their current needs and to further their education to an Associate in Arts Degree.

Students completing the certificate program will have an opportunity to continue their course work at LLTC towards an Associate of Arts Degree.
