National Summer Transportation Institute Program

July 5 - 30, 2010
9:00am to 4:00pm

2010 will be Leech Lake Tribal College's second year participating in the National Summer Transportation Institute Program (NSTI). LLTC is looking forward to increasing Middle students' awareness and interest of careers in transportation. The program will not only increase awareness but also encourage students to consider transportation-related courses of study in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.
Keeping our events and activities fun and interesting will be the key components to maintaining the students' interest in various transportation careers.
Every week will focus on a different mode of transportation, including Land, Water, Air, and Safety. The NSTI is sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and is open to students attending schools across the state.
Students will learn the basics of transportation and its effect on our way of living. They will also learn the role transportation plays in business and commerce. They will be exposed to a variety of educational opportunities and what educational requirements are expected for various career opportunities.
